October 17-19, 2007
Doubletree Hotel Riverside - Boise, Idaho

About the Conference

The theme for PNWIS 2007 is ‘Powering the Future.’ The conference will be held at the Doubletree Hotel Riverside in Boise, Idaho. PNWIS 2007 will span three days from October 17-19 and will consist of a plenary session, several streams of technical papers, exhibitor’s displays, and a student Environmental Challenge.

The plenary session will feature a speaker from the Big Sky Sequestration Partnership, who will provide an update on the research being conducted on the viability of terrestrial and geological sequestration technologies.

The technical sessions will cover air and waste management topics, including power generation, clean energy, alternative fuels, and the environmental challenges we face as we power our future. Highlights will include presentations on:

  • Greenhouse gas emission inventories
  • Coal-to-liquids technologies
  • A proposed nuclear power plant
  • PM2.5 emissions and impacts

A high point of the annual conference is always the banquet, and this year the banquet will be held at the Powerhouse Event Center on Thursday evening.
