Sea Kayaking in Whittier
Tour Includes: Transfers, Rain Gear, Snacks and Refreshments, and Logistics Staff Coordination. There will be a 10 Person Minimum Requirement to Operate This Tour. The Maximum Availability for This Tour is 30.
Transportation will depart from Alyeska: Departs Hotel at noon and Returns to Hotel at 5:00pm.
Note: Times may be adjusted based on the Whittier Tunnel road openings. You must be 10 years or older to take this tour. You may drive yourself to Whittier.
You will depart Alyeska for a 45-minute drive to Whittier traveling along the breathtaking Turnagain Arm; famous for it’s unusual bore tide. Be sure to watch for eagles, Dall sheep, moose and perhaps some Beluga Whales feeding on Hooligan.
Your adventure will begin with a short instruction period. Paddle a 3 mile loop from Whittier to see the Black Legged Kittiwake Rookery, waterfalls and coves. This is a terrific trip for those wanting an introduction to sea kayaking. This tour is based on weather conditions.
Please dress in layers, rain gear is provided.
