Departure From Alyeska:  Departs at 8:00am and Returns at 4:00pm.

Depart Alyeska for a one-hour drive to Cooper Landing. Travel through Portage, which was devastated by the 1964 earthquake, the old town is all but gone.  Dead trees stand in silent testimony to the power of the quake, which flooded the town and dropped the surrounding land 10 to 12 feet.

Experience a placid float down a beautiful section of the Kenai River, where motorized boats are not allowed.  Enjoy the scenery as your river guide navigates through the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge.  After your float, enjoy a Salmon Bake lunch before you return to Alyeska.
