Environmental Challenge Fund (ECF) Student Competition
The ECF was initiated with the intention of building a long-term scholarship fund for Northwest university level students studying environmental sciences and engineering. To ensure the viability of a perpetual scholarship program, fundraising continues. See http://www.pnwis.org/ecf.htm for full information about the ECF Program.
The PNWIS Board voted this year to grant $1,000 in prizes for an ECF program, a Student Competition that will be held during the PNWIS 2003 Annual Conference. If you would like to participate in this competition, check out the information below and then register your student team with:

ECF FAQs
What is it? · You can earn money (team awards - $500 for first place, $300 for second, $200 for third) and recognition. · Your team can work together to solve a nearly real, every-day environmental challenge. · You’ll each have additional opportunities to interact with PNWIS Conference delegates.
Who can participate? · University level students in teams of 3 to 5
Where and when will it happen? · The competition will be staged at the PNWIS 2003 Annual Conference, September 24-26, in Anchorage (Girdwood), Alaska (go to http://www.pnwis.org/PNWIS2003/ for information). · The challenge information will be distributed to a representative of each team on the first day of the conference (September 24). · Solutions must be presented at the first breakout session on the last day of the conference (September 26). Winners will be recognized at the Awards Luncheon that day.
