PNWIS 2011: Cross-border Air and Waste Solutions


PNWIS 2011 will provide a neutral platform for discussing technical environmental issues relating to cross border air and waste solutions in the U.S. Pacific Northwest and Western Canada.
In the technical program we will have four different lines of sessions (policy, science, regulations and technology) focussing on integrating aspects of environmental stewardship. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Visibility/visual air quality and regional haze
  • Agriculture
  • Incident/emergency response and regulations
  • Changes and advances in emissions monitoring and reporting
  • New and pending environmental legislation
  • Pollution dispersion
  • Managing greenhouse gases
  • Woodsmoke
  • Noise Pollution
  • Health effects considerations for the environment sector
  • Odour Management
  • Developing “green” business practices
  • Cross-border initiatives
  • Ambient air quality monitoring
  • Harmonization of regulations
